AFDs are rated by which parameter?

AFDs, or Air Filtration Devices, are rated primarily by their Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) performance. This parameter indicates the volume of air that the device can effectively filter every minute, which is essential for understanding how well the AFD can clean the air within a given environment. The higher the CFM rating, the greater the air filtration capacity of the device, making it more suitable for larger areas or for situations where a significant amount of airborne contaminants are present.

Other parameters listed, while they may be relevant in different contexts, do not measure the direct operational performance of AFDs in terms of air movement. The Air Quality Index primarily evaluates the overall quality of air based on pollutants and health advisories, rather than specific performance metrics of filtration devices. Pressure differential could indicate how well the device is operating or how much resistance it encounters, but it doesn’t provide a direct measure of airflow or filtration capacity.
