IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) Practice Exam

Starting from the top to the bottom is the proper approach when deep cleaning inside a containment area. This method is grounded in the principle of gravity and the nature of contamination removal. By cleaning surfaces that are higher first, any dust, debris, or potentially harmful microorganisms that may fall during the cleaning process will land on surfaces that have not yet been cleaned.

Additionally, cleaning from the top down ensures that contaminants are not spread back onto already cleaned surfaces. This systematic approach allows for a thorough clean while minimizing the risk of re-contaminating areas that have already been addressed. It's common practice in various types of cleaning, particularly when dealing with microbial remediation, where maintaining a controlled and sanitized environment is crucial for safety and effectiveness.

The other methods, while they may seem logical, do not provide the same level of efficiency and effectiveness in removing contaminants without the risk of spreading them back onto cleaned areas.
